Minecraft Mod Guide

I started this thread because I need help. I have downloaded the Minecraft Coders Pack (MCP) and Eclipse. I have figured out how to decomplie the minecraft jar file and can do some basic editing (ie. adding crafting receipes, changing block properties, etc..) But where I am having trouble is...

I want to create a new block type. With this, I want to add a new graphic to go along with it. I think my answer is to add a new java file (Mod_Name) that has to actually utilize ModLoader. Has anyone done this yet for Minecraft 1.1? Does anyone know a tutorial that actually works? (I've seen several that are outdated (pre-1.1) and don't seem to work correctly anymore).
